"The FDA developed methods to detect melamine and cyanuric acid in feed and feed ingredients. Does this benefit our pet lover readers?" In one word answer...No..and the reason is that I truly believe that the next "non-protein" nitrogen used to mask protein in our pets food will be something else...so it would be pro-active to change the way protein is tested wouldn't it? Now they test for nitrogen so we can sit back and wait for the "new melamine"..Thanks for your site...very informative...and let us remember it took a Freedom of Information Act request to make the melamine/cyanuric acid results in US made baby formula public...the more info to the public from sites like this the better!
