It’s almost summer here in Massachusetts. We’ve had a couple of seasonably warm days and very cool nights. If you have the windows down when you drive, you can smell the cookouts, in backyards. Finally, after a miserable long winter, we can grill again.
Those hamburgers and hot dogs, potato salad and cole slaw make for a fine summer meal. Who knew that four recalls of ground beef and pork products during May would disrupt a perfect beginning to our summer season. All told, over 600,000 pounds of ground beef and pork were recalled. E.Coli has reared its’ ugly head once again.
These are not small recalls. Major brands were impacted and many supermarkets in California and elsewhere had product recalled. When you want that burger, check the food recalls at http://www.usfoodsafety.com. You can never be sure what lurks in your freezer.
