The Purina Cat food recalled was carried by Walmart.

This recall impacted 581 Walmart stores in the following 14 states: Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and West Virginia. The specific products are:

As soon as Walmart was notified of the recall, they sent directions to the stores affected to begin removing the product from the shelves, according to an e-mail from a Walmart representative.

Walmart also instituted a register lockdown to prevent the sale of these specific items.

These products may be contaminated with Salmonella and if eaten, could result in a severe illness to animals that may consume the product.

Customers who bought these products from Walmart should return them for a full refund.
