Ladies – be careful of your purses.
Remember the movie When Harry Met Sally? Katz’s Deli has a sign in their honor but that is not the only issue this week at the landmark restaurant. This thief didn’t steal their unreal pastrami sandwiches but purses.
Police are looking for a woman they say is responsible for at least three pocketbook snatchings in the landmark Katz’s Delicatessen in NYC, as well as a nearby restaurant, according to DNAInfo.com.
The woman has allegedly been stealing pocketbooks from the back of chairs, said the NYPD, which released photo and surveillance footage of the suspect Thursday.
The woman allegedly struck Katz’s on May 1, May 28 and September 30. She also allegedly hit the Clinton Street Baking Company on June 17.
The woman is described as between 40 to 50 years old and is seen wearing her hair in a ponytail and wearing a white T-shirt.
In case you never visited Katz’s – you walk in, receive a ticket which is marked at the counter when you order, and hand the ticket to the cashier or pay something like $50. No wonder she didn’t get away with a sandwich.
