Last week, the FDA issued a Warning Letters to six companies for the following products: hcg-miracleweightloss.com, HCG Fusion 30 and HCG Fusion 43, HCG Diet Homeopathic Drops, HCG Platinum, HCG Platinum X-30, and HCG Platinum X-14”, Alcohol Free hCG Weight Loss Formula, hCG Diet Pellets Weight Loss Formula, and hCG Diet Drops Weight Loss Formula.
Below are the reasons:
The FDA claims that the above products are unapproved new drugs and are misbranded.
FDA also stated that it is unlawful to advertise that a product can prevent, treat, or cure human disease unless you possess competent and reliable scientific evidence, including, when appropriate, well-controlled human clinical studies, substantiating that the claims are true at the time they are made. More generally, to make or exaggerate such claims, whether directly or indirectly, through the use of a product name, website name, metatags, or other means, without rigorous scientific evidence sufficient to substantiate the claims, violates the Federal Trade Commission Act.
