I liked the Planter’s Peanut Butter man. He was always smiling and had that great hat and cane. I also liked the Norelco Santa, every Christmas he would ho ho  ho down the animated snow.

There is nothing funny however about the magnitude  of this peanut recall. It has killed people, upset a huge supply chain, and have the public believing they can never eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich again.

That’s not true.  This, my food safety friends is a recall. A recall on steriods, but a recall nonetheless.  Most recalls have a starting and end point. Some food company did something that required a recall and for a time,  people will think about it, if they even here about it. It usually impacts the recalled company about 9 months.

I just don’t know about this one. The Planter’s Peanut Man isn’t so cute these days. The lowly peanut has grabbed the attention of everyone.

I, for one, will be happy when there is an end point.
