One diet supplement and one fish recall announced

As a child growing up with post word war two parents, I remember my grandparents who came over in the early 1900’s talking about herring. It is an acquired taste to be sure. Nothing like a mid century Twinkie for a child herring was salty. It was not until much later and my grandparents had long since passed that I wanted to try some jarred herring on a cracker.  I should have purchased Twinkies.

As far as diet supplements, the one recalled today and sent out as an alert by US Food Safety, I’m trying to uncover the mystery of the m. ulti-billion dollar diet industry. Not that I haven’t tried Weight Watchers, Slim Fast, Pritikin, Suzzanne Somers and more. I have a new philosophy, get a life style change. It doesn’t involve the OTC meds or get loss quick schemes. It means changing the way I think about food and what goes into my body everyday.

Diet pills and the Weight Watchers haven’t helped me. I just think about what I am eating and why I am eating it. What does this have to with food safety? I don’t have to think about if I have recalled diet pills and just pass the information on to you.
