Government Shutdown Will Likely Limit Food Safety Inspections

According to CNN Money, the looming government shut down could spell trouble for the FDA and food safety.  An official with the Food and Drug Administration stated that a government shutdown will severely restrict food and drug inspections.

This is concerning on a number of fronts.  The FDA needs to remain proactive and diligent and increase the number of inspections.  Food safety should not be compromised by politics. Democrats, republicans and independents can surely agree on this.
