Update: Cape Cod Shellfish & Seafood Company, a distributor, recalls Oysters and Clams for Bacteria

Update: The items in this recall were harvested from the Norwalk and Westport Connecticut waters between July 3, 2013 and August 2, 2013.

Cape Cod Shellfish Oysters and Clams have been recalled according to the Stop & Shop website on August 6, 2013. The following products were recalled: 

Oysters in shell sold individually, by the dozen and by the pound
Cherrystone clams 2lb bag UPC: 89054100202
Quohog clams sold individually, by the dozen and by the pound

Recall Information: Products are being recalled due to the naturally occurring bacterium Vibrio parahaemolyticus. Products may be returned to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Products may have been sold at other retail locations. A representative from  Cape Cod Shellfish refused to give US Food Safety additional locations for recalled products.
