Posted on November 2, 2013 by

From the Weiss Markets website:

Effective Wednesday, October 30, 2013, Garden-Fresh Foods Inc. is initiating an expansion to our voluntary recall on various ready-to-eat products sold under various brands expiration dates October 30, 2013 through December 16, 2013. This expansion would be for products produced at the same time period as the USDA recall that was issued on October 24 2013.

The products have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes-fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. This information will be posted to the FDA website. Consumers who have purchased any of the suspect products are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Currently there has been no illness or complaints related to this recall. We understand the stress and inconvenience this puts on your business and appreciate your cooperation in this important matter. Please pull and destroy the dates and items attached and credit will be provided.
