Emergency Shellfish Closures in NY for Vibrio – illnesses reported

According to the New York state department of environmental conversation there have been documented illnesses caused by Vibrio parahaemolyticus from shellfish presumed shellfish harvested from New York Shellfish Harvest Area NS-3.

The following lands are designated as uncertified effective sunrise on Friday, September 5, 2014 and continuing until further notice.

It is unlawful to harvest oysters and hard clams in Huntington.
