Trader Joe’s Recalls Uncured Bacon Ganache Bar – Complaint

Posted on February 9, 2016 by

Trader Joe’s is recalling one specific lot (720 bars) of Trader Joe’s Uncured Bacon Ganache Bar (SKU 55001) with a “BEST BY” code of “03 SEP 2016”—sold only in FL, GA, NC, & SC—because the product may contain undeclared coconut.

The 3 oz Trader Joe’s Uncured Bacon Ganache Bar is packaged in a box, with code information imprinted along the bottom edge of the box. The product was distributed only to Trader Joe’s stores in FL, GA, NC, & SC.

Trader Joe’s initiated the removal of the Uncured Bacon Ganache Bar after a customer reported tasting coconut while eating the product. Upon inspection, it was discovered that some “Trader Joe’s Coconut Nib Caramel Chocolate Bars” were mistakenly packaged in “Trader Joe’s Uncured Bacon Ganache Bar” boxes with the BEST BY 03 SEP 2016 code. Trader Joe’s is working closely with the vendor to immediately correct and prevent packaging errors of this nature.

No adverse reactions have been reported to date.

All affected product has been removed from store shelves.

Customers with coconut allergy concerns who have purchased this product with the BEST BY 03 SEP 2016 code are urged not to eat it. Please discard it or bring it into any Trader Joe’s store for a full refund.

If you have any questions, you may call Trader Joe’s Customer Relations at (626) 599-3817 [Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm Pacific Time] or send an email here.
