Sugar Coated Almonds Recall

Posted on December 21, 2016 by

Big Y has posted the following recall on its website.

The Henry Gonsalves Company is recalling its Sugar Coated Almonds. The product is being recalled as the health and safety of our consumers is our top priority. Gonsalves initiated the recall due to misbranding inasmuch as the ingredient list on the packaging is incorrect. Specifically, the product contains wheat and that ingredient is not listed on the label. Additionally, the ingredients used to color the almonds are not disclosed properly. They include Yellow #6, Red #3, Red #40, and Blue #1.

The recalled product was distributed to retail stores. All affected distributors and retail customers are being notified and the affected products are being removed from store shelves.

No other Gonsalves products or any other products produced by Gonsalves are affected by this recall.

If you have any of the products listed below, they should be thrown away or returned to your local Big Y for a full refund.
