Below is the the Contigo water bottle recall posted on the COSTCO website. That’s not the only water bottle recall US Food Safety has  posted. In 2014, Brita had a childrens water bottle recall and L.L.Bean had  one also. Read the articles now.

Contigo® USA, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, is announcing a recall
of the Contigo® Kids Cleanable water bottles. The clear silicone spout can detach posing a possible choking
hazard to children. The affected water bottles come in three sizes (13-ounce, 14-ounce, and 20-ounce)
and multiple bottle styles (solid color, graphics, stainless steel and stainless-steel solid colors.) For your
convenience, we’ve included a list of affected product names and item numbers below:
 Kids Cleanable 14oz Plastic (sold as a pack of three) item #1119280
 Kids Cleanable Plastic, item # 1301244, sold online at
 Kids Cleanable Plastic, item # 1301245, sold online at
 Kids Cleanable 13oz Stainless Steel Colored (sold as a pack of two), item #1119343

The key feature that distinguishes the recalled water bottles from other non-affected products is that the
Contigo Kids Cleanable water bottle only has a BLACK spout base and BLACK spout cover as shown below.
No other water bottles with different color bases and lids are affected.

Please immediately stop using the affected product. Contigo will provide you with a replacement lid by
contacting Contigo at 1-888-262-0622 or visiting, or return the item to your
local Costco for a full refund. If you have any questions, please contact Contigo at 1-888-262-0622
(Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm EST).
